Why every device record needs a source date.
A device name may stay familiar while the documentation changes.

A date is part of the record
Manufacturer websites are living documents. They may add a new generation, change regional entries or revise a claim. A source date explains which information an editor saw.
Similar names can hide different generations
The GEEK BAR product directory lists PULSE X and PULSE X 2 separately. A record must preserve the exact model name; a newer generation is not evidence for an older one.
Our initial edition
These initial files were checked on 17 October 2026. The date is a provenance marker, not a guarantee that all manufacturer pages will remain unchanged.
